Our program focuses on development of listening and speaking skills and on cultural awareness.
The program follows the natural sequence of language: understanding --> speaking --> reading --> writing. Activities will encourage learning through active participation including singing, games and storytelling. “Aprender Jugando“ means learning while playing. Children best learn a second language when it is taught in a playful, hands-on way that is connected to their lives.
Parents will be given a guide so they can follow along with their children, thereby helping them to track progress and make learning about Spanish language and culture a family activity.
We use visual teaching aids, music, and cultural items from a variety of Spanish-speaking countries.
In a typical 45-minute class, we will break up the time as follows:
- Circle Time - Activities that encourage learning through active participation, singing, movement, role-playing games, stories arts ad crafts.
- Activities that include reading and writing
- Multimedia lab
- Individual study time/supervised study hall
Assessment of students' progress will be made on a regular basis.
